Founded in 1885, the Thomas Miller Group has a long tradition of outstanding performance in each of its areas of operation, specialisation, and expertise.

Thomas Miller manages some of the largest insurance mutuals in the global shipping sector. It also owns other specialist insurance businesses in which it deploys exemplary skills in underwriting, claims handling, loss prevention, risk management and legal advice.

We have been steadily and successfully expanding the scope of our business since the mid 1980s. Previously a group of partnerships; the firm incorporated in 1999 and is now owned by its employees. Today, Thomas Miller employs over 500 people worldwide, and has offices on four continents.

Our Isle of Man office, which employs more than 45 people, is home to a number of specialist businesses – the management of mutual insurance and reinsurance companies, captive management and investment management. Investment Management has been a major component of the Thomas Miller Group since its inception and as a consequence resulted in the formation of a separate Investment company around 30 years ago.

Thomas Miller Investment manage funds for and on behalf of mutual insurance businesses together with charities, captive insurance companies, pension funds, and offshore private trusts. Currently we have approximately $4bn assets under management.
