Richard Slee

I am a member of the committee of the CiM Isle of Man Branch after having been Chair for five years and we have a great team here.

I have a day job too! and took up the newly created role of Marketing Manager for the Dept of Trade & Industry at the end of January 2008.

I started my marketing career doing a Masters degree in Marketing from Melbourne Business School (MBS), the leading business school in the Asia-Pacific region and part of the University of Melbourne. I was also instrumental in helping set up a UK alumni association for MBS.

I like to get involved in extra-curricular activity and was part of the winning team in the 2006 Manx Executive Challenge, a business competition organised by the Chartered Management Institute. In 2007, I was also honoured to receive CIM Member of the year for the NW region.

Away from the office I’m enjoying married life with my wife, Amy, and settling in to our house by the sea. Given that it’s 150 years old we spend most of our free time decorating! However we also take the dog for walks on the fantastic beach that is literally on our doorstep and in the nearby glens and hills. When we get bored of that we sometimes head off for a weekend to Dublin, Liverpool, Manchester or London, which are all less than an hour’s flight away.

We like to take full advantage of the excellent work/life balance that the Isle of Man offers – and the extra bank holidays!
