Achievements in the Isle of Man community

Each year Simcocks Advocates asks it staff which charity should benefit from our fundraising activities. The aim is to make a significant contribution to an organisation that will impact on Island life and to adopt a different group each year so we help a wide range of good causes.

Last year staff adopted the Manx Stroke Foundation and we raised £4000 through a sponsored walk along the Manx Heritage Trail, arranging staff lunches, raffles and dress down days.

For 2009 we have chosen to give the Isle of Man branch of the Alzheimer's Society a boost and we are planning a sponsored abseil, car boot sale, raffles and a Christmas cookery book.

Awards and distinctions:

• Simcocks Advocates was the first Isle of Man law practice to be awarded to Quality Standard ISO 9001 accreditation by Moody International.
• It is the only Island practice belonging to LawNet, a leading group of law firms in the UK and Ireland.
• It is the sole UK representative of Eurojuris International, a European network of companies
• Simcocks Advocates is a founder member of TerraLex, a global association of eminent law firms with members in most countries.
