Who we Are

The H & S Davidson Trust is a Manx charitable trust (No 908), with assets of c.£2.5million.

H & S Davidson Trust helping children

Its objectives are to help children, especially from families with limited resources, to reach their full potential, through education and personal development.

It is therefore closely aligned with the Freedom to Flourish programme, whose objective is to create an environment where everyone has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Geographically, the Trust focuses mainly on Eastern India, Vietnam, and Ghana (c.two thirds of grants), and on the Isle of Man (c.one third).

It operates through partner organisations, and does not make grants to individuals.

In the Isle of Man, its main partners are the One World Centre, Age Concern, the Department of Education, and AXA Isle of Man.

Overseas, its current partners are Save the Children, Oxfam, and Christian Aid.

The Trust has nil operating expenses – these are privately financed.

The Trust’s five values are:

Listening & Learning – from clients, partners, experts.
Efficiency – strive to get best value for clients
Sustainability
Self help for people & communities
Equality – donor & client on equal footing.

Why did you join the champions scheme

Why did you join the champions scheme

  1. The objectives of the H & S Davidson Trust are very closely aligned with those of the Freedom to Flourish programme.
  2. The F2F programme and the Champions Group have a very important role to play in helping raise awareness of the existence and attractions of the IOM among its target customers, thereby generating extra revenue which can be invested in further improving the quality of life of all those living on the Island.
  3. The Trust would like to see the Island’s economic success continue, but the benefits more evenly distributed, and a continued strong focus on building personal skills, especially among young people.
  4. The F2 F will help the Government to meet one of its key objectives of strengthening the IOM’s national identity, and community involvement.

The Trust is committed to giving others the Freedom to Flourish
